6 Week Meditation Course
If you're curious what meditation is all about or keen to integrate meditation better into your life, come and join me for this 6 week Meditation Course - Sitting with Yourself.
I weave in classic mindfulness meditation, with some more advanced non dual approaches & helpful wisdom from Internal Family Systems Therapy. It will be a rich, friendly course that will teach you the basics, or refresh and deepen your knowledge. Having been a meditator for 25 years & a psychotherapist for 13 years, I wanted to create a bespoke course where I can share my wisdom of emotional mastery so far and help us all to become more awakened warriors in our lives.
The course costs £90 and you can book (or ask me any questions) by sending me an email at salfulcherpsychotherapy@gmail.com.
Dates: Sundays, 10.00-11.30am, 11th January - 15th February 2026
Do let me know if you would prefer a chair or a meditation cushion.
Location: Robertson’s Boat Yard, Lime Kiln Quay, Woodbridge, IP12 1BD
Parking is available on site.
(Directions: Head to Deben Road, then immediately cross over the railway tracks on the right and follow the road around to the right. Robertson’s Boat yard is then on your left.)
How the Course Works
Each session I will introduce the week's theme and then guide you through the first meditation which will last between 20-30 minutes. After the meditation, there will be time to reflect and for those who wish to, to share experiences with each other or ask questions. We will then try the meditation again or I’ll introduce you to a different meditation. You can either sit on a cushion or on a chair. At the end of the class I will give you a hand-out of the week's meditation to invite you to practice at home.
Here are the themes for the 6 week course;
Week 1: Anchors to Come Home (We explore different sensory anchors to help us get grounded and come home to ourselves - which ones work best for you?)
Week 2: Life is Now (We explore our relationship to time and how it can hinder us from being more present)
Week 3: Sitting with Dragons (We make friends with our common protectors & defences that can distract us from being more peaceful in meditation and life)
Week 4: Heartfulness 1 (We explore being with ourselves with compassion, why it’s essential and how to do it)
Week 5: Heartfulness 2 (We explore being with ourselves with appreciation, why it helps and how to do it)
Week 6: Letting Be (We explore the imperfect self and how our attachment to our identity creates suffering.)
The Benefits
I’ve been meditating for 25 years and in my experience, meditation is a transformative tool in helping me stay grounded, calm and self aware. I’m not sure how people get through life without it? Further more it’s helped me sit with myself and process everyday feelings as well as soften more ingrained patterns and long term negative beliefs. Thus leaving me more clarity, joy and less reactivity to the world.
My Training
I have been meditating in Mindfulness and Buddhist meditations since I was introduced to meditation in Thailand in 2000, when I was 18. I trained in teaching mindfulness meditation at the University of East London in 2011 in Jon Kabat-Zinn's classic mindfulness based stress reduction course. In 2017 I attended further teacher training at Mindfulness CiC which increased the depth and spirituality of my teaching. In 2022 I trained in the brilliant Internal Family Systems Therapy which has a strong meditative style in it’s therapeutic healing. Over the last few years I have also become fasciated by non dual approaches to meditation, popularised by teachers such as Loch Kelly.
I have taught mindfulness meditation classes and workshops at;
